Exciting news! Absolute is becoming part of the Utopia Music family as a pivotal part of the Swiss music fintech company’s new Distribution Services unit. Utopia’s mission is to build a new music ecosystem with an ethos of Fair Pay For Every Play.
Utopia’s objectives align perfectly with our own at Absolute – to create new revenue streams for creators, consolidate data, and drastically reduce the limitations created by antiquated systems. The goal is to free up more resources for creative processes and creator development.
Don’t worry, Absolute isn’t going away. We won’t be losing our identity, and our team will remain in place at our Wimbledon-based offices. But, as part of Utopia Music, we’ll be able to provide our clients with even more services, a wider set of expert partners, bleeding-edge tech, world-beating data and greater infrastructure on a truly global scale.
Absolute will sit alongside another respected industry stalwart in Proper Music Group, working together to place Utopia’s new Distribution Services business at the forefront of the sector and a go to destination for labels.
Absolute’s co-owners and joint Managing Directors, Henry Semmence and Simon Wills will act as VP, Distribution Services, working alongside Proper’s Drew Hill as VP, Physical Distribution.
“At Absolute, we pride ourselves on being the most trusted partner for labels,” said Semmence and Wills. “By joining the Utopia family, we can provide our clients with an array of new services and exponentially increase their business. It is no secret that the music industry has a data gap. We are proud to be part of a company that wants to make a difference within the industry and help it grow.”
